FUN DIVES
Fun dives are recreational dives that allow certified divers to explore new dive sites and enjoy the underwater world. These dives are typically guided by a PADI professional who will lead the dive and point out interesting marine life and features. Fun dives are a great way to gain more diving experience and explore new dive sites, while also meeting other divers and having fun.
Daily scuba diving for certified divers: Private scuba dive trips in Cozumel's reefs
We arrange daily scuba dives (am/pm/night dives) on the reefs of Cozumel. MERMAID DIVERS’ scuba trips either start from Marina Fonatur/Caleta or we pick you up at your hotel along the way. Together we set up your gear and check that everything is working 100%. Our instructors will choose the dive sites once all the divers are onboard. Good communication is the key for a safe and relaxed dive experience: We provide all the necessary information about the schedule, essential dive preparation and the diving procedures ahead of time.
Depending on the amount/experience level of divers and weather conditions, we choose the most appropriate and relaxing spots for each trip. Of course we offer all the possible dive sites on Cozumel, especially the Palancar reef with its numerous swim throughs and impressive walls. For our experienced and very advanced divers we can organize special trips to the Eagle ray wall in the north part of the island or Punta Sur/Devil's throat in the south. Please let us know if you’re interested in diving the Cenotes on the mainland (Playa del Carmen/Tulum). Inform us in advance if you have special requests related to dive sites or equipment required. Nitrox tanks (for certified Nitrox divers) and larger air tanks (15l) can be organized if ordered in advance. Please contact us for group packages.

Blackwater Dives (Cozumel):
Blackwater diving is a night dive in the open ocean, away from a reef, over deep water. We aim for three kilometers away from the shore where the seafloor is over 300 meters / 1000 feet away. The largest migration of animal biomass happens every single night as animals migrate from the mesopelagic zone unto the surface. In simple terms, plankton (pelagic life forms of fish, corals, and other invertebrates before they settle to the reef) migrate from the dark depths of the ocean each night to feed near the surface. This offers us the ability to see otherworldly lifeforms that are otherwise far beyond the reaches of scuba diving. Requirements: Advanced certified divers with previous night diving experience. Good buoyancy is a must. No heart conditions.

Bullshark dives (Mainland/ Playa del Carmen):
Bull shark diving in Playa del Carmen is typically available from November to mid-March. During this time, these majestic creatures migrate to the warm waters of the Mexican Caribbean to give birth. It's important to note that while this is the general season, sightings can vary from year to year. The dives take place in controlled environments, where experienced dive instructors accompany the group and ensure that all divers are safe and respect the animals. If you are interested in bull shark dives we’ll check with our local dive partners (who adhere to the highest safety standards) for the most up-to-date information, availability and prices.

Enjoy free cancellation with at least 12 hours' notice before your dive activity. Please note that no deposit will be returned for cancellations made within 12 hours. Full payment is required on the day of diving.

Non-divers/snorkelers are also welcome on our dive boats upon availability. Cozumel is a must for anyone seeking vibrant marine life and stunning coral reefs. You'll have the chance to encounter colorful fish, sea turtles, sharks or even eagle rays.
