Daily scuba diving trips in Cozumel
We offer daily morning, afternoon, and night scuba diving trips to Cozumel's most beautiful dive sites. Our dives depart from Marina Fonatur or include convenient hotel pick-up along our route whenever possible. Before every dive, we'll help you set up your equipment, perform thorough safety checks, and provide a detailed dive briefing. Our experienced PADI professionals carefully select the best dive sites based on weather conditions, current strength, visibility, and the experience level of the divers on board. At Mermaid Divers, we believe that great diving starts with great communication. That's why you'll receive all important information about schedules, equipment, dive procedures, and trip logistics in advance, allowing you to relax and enjoy your diving experience from the moment you arrive.

Unlike crowded dive boats, we keep our groups intentionally small, with a maximum of 1–4 divers per PADI-certified instructor. This allows us to provide a highly personalized experience, adapt the dive to your comfort level, and spend more time enjoying the incredible underwater world that makes Cozumel famous.
Dive the best reefs in Cozumel
Depending on conditions and diver experience, we visit a variety of Cozumel's most famous dive sites, including: Palancar Reef, Colombia Reef, Santa Rosa Wall, Yucab Reef & Paradise Reef. Palancar Reef remains one of our favorite destinations, offering breathtaking coral formations, swim-throughs, tunnels, and dramatic wall diving. For advanced and experienced divers, we can also arrange special dives to Eagle Ray Wall, Punta Sur, and the legendary Devil's Throat (upon availability) . If you're interested in cenote diving on the mainland near Playa del Carmen or Tulum, we'll be happy to help arrange those adventures through our trusted local partners.
Nitrox tanks for certified Enriched Air divers and larger 15L tanks are available upon request. Please let us know in advance if you have specific equipment needs or preferred dive sites.

Blackwater diving in Cozumel:
Blackwater diving is one of the most fascinating and unique underwater experiences available anywhere in the world. Unlike traditional night dives on a reef, blackwater dives take place in the open ocean over deep water, far from shore. We typically dive several kilometers offshore, where the seafloor lies more than 300 meters (1,000 feet) below.
Every night, one of the largest animal migrations on Earth takes place as countless pelagic organisms rise from the depths toward the surface to feed. During a blackwater dive, you'll have the rare opportunity to observe larval fish, jellyfish, cephalopods, and other extraordinary marine creatures that are rarely seen by divers. The experience is often described as exploring an alien world beneath the surface of the ocean.

Bull shark diving in Playa del Carmen:
Experience an unforgettable encounter with one of the ocean's most powerful and misunderstood predators. Each year, from approximately November through March, female bull sharks gather in the waters off Playa del Carmen. This seasonal migration offers qualified divers the opportunity to observe these magnificent animals in their natural environment under the supervision of experienced professionals. All dives are conducted according to strict safety protocols, with a strong focus on respectful wildlife interaction and diver safety.
Through our trusted local dive partners, we can help arrange bull shark diving excursions with the most current information regarding conditions, availability, and sightings.

Non-divers and snorkelers are welcome on our dive boats (subject to availability) to experience the beauty of Cozumel's crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and incredible marine life. Encounter colorful tropical fish, sea turtles, eagle rays, and more while exploring some of the island's best snorkeling sites.
Many of Cozumel's famous dive sites are also perfect for snorkeling, allowing you to share the experience with your diving buddy while enjoying the same boat trip together.
