Have you always dreamed of breathing underwater and exploring the ocean? Our PADI Discover Scuba Diving program in Cozumel is the perfect introduction to scuba diving for beginners. No certification or previous diving experience is required.
At Mermaid Divers Cozumel, we welcome divers of all levels, but this experience is specially designed for those who have never been scuba diving before. The PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program is a one-day introductory course that allows you to experience scuba diving in a safe, relaxed, and closely supervised environment. During the program, you'll learn how scuba equipment works, practice basic diving skills, and take your first breaths underwater. Before you know it, you'll be exploring Cozumel's beautiful reefs and discovering a whole new world beneath the surface.
We understand that trying scuba diving for the first time can feel exciting and a little intimidating. That's why we keep our groups extremely small, with a maximum ratio of just two divers per instructor. You'll receive plenty of personal attention, patience, and encouragement throughout the day. If needed, we'll quite literally take you by the hand and guide you through your first underwater adventure. And who knows? With a little luck, you may even encounter one of Cozumel's famous sea turtles during your first dive!

Because this is a scuba diving training program, all participants must complete a medical questionnaire before diving. You should be in good general health to participate. If you have any medical conditions or are unsure whether you qualify, please contact us before booking so we can help you determine your eligibility.

Snorkeling in Cozumel | Discover the Caribbean's underwater paradise
Non-divers and snorkelers are welcome on our dive boats (subject to availability) to experience the beauty of Cozumel's crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and incredible marine life. Encounter colorful tropical fish, sea turtles, eagle rays, and more while exploring some of the island's best snorkeling sites.
Many of Cozumel's famous dive sites are also perfect for snorkeling, allowing you to share the experience with your diving buddy while enjoying the same boat trip together.
